To receive FREE immunizations, the child must:

  • Be receiving Medicaid or CHIP, have NO private health insurance or insurance which does not cover vaccines
  • Be accompanied by a parent or guardian
  • Bring a current shot record
  • Bring a valid Medicaid card (if applicable)

Immunizations given by the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District
ALL STUDENTS at Burgess, Lamar, Scotland Park, Washington and Zundy elementary school 
will receive school supplies and backpacks at your school.

Contact your school with any questions about when you will receive the school supplies provided by Project Back to School.

Who Qualifies?

To receive FREE school supplies and a backpack at the Roundup, the child must:

  • Bring proof of eligibility (such as school letter showing students' qualification for the free and reduced lunch program, Medicaid or CHIP letter, Lone Star card,  SNAP, TANF or Food Stamp letter or any other proof of receiving government assistance)
  • Be enrolled in a WFISD or CVISD school  (other than Burgess, Lamar, Scotland Park, Washington and Zundy since they receive school supplies at their school.)
  • Be accompanied by an adult, if under the age of 16   (It is recommended, but not required for the child to be present.)
  • Complete a student registration card for each child and visit community resource booths prior to receiving supplies.
Supplies are limited to the first students who attend.

The Roundup is an informative and fun family event that provides Wichita Falls ISD and City View ISD students in Head Start through 12th grade with the essential school supplies and services they need to start the school year ready to learn. 

  • No preregistration required to attend or receive school supplies.
  • FREE SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS AND BACKPACKS for Wichita Falls ISD and City View ISD students who qualify for the free and reduced lunch program
  • Students at Burgess, Lamar, Scotland Park, Washington and Zundy elementary schools will receive school supplies and backpacks at their school. 
  • Majority of the required school supplies will be provided
  • Elementary students will also receive a box of tissues while supplies last
  • Head Start and Pre-Kindergarten students will receive a backpack and crayons
  • COMMUNITY RESOURCE BOOTHS about school and community services, youth programs, assistance programs, health and safety 
  • FREE GIVEAWAYS provided by community donations
  • FREE IMMUNIZATIONS for eligible children
  • FREE VISION SCREENINGS provided by WFISD Health Services
  • FREE DENTAL SCREENINGS provided by the Community Healthcare Center
  • A limited number of school uniform shirts have been provided to the WFISD schools requiring uniforms.  For assistance, the parents must contact the school's counselor.

Sports Physicals

Sports Physicals will NOT be offered at the Roundup.  The Community Healthcare Center will be offering free sports physicals for middle school and high school students throughout the summer.   Call them at 940-766-6306 about scheduling an appointment for a sports physical.
